Hug tightly your dreams.
They bring you comfort and solace
Like the stuffed animal companions
Of your childhood.
When you box them up
And lock them away
In your mind's attic,
You begin to age.
The wine of aspiration
Becomes the vinegar
Of a defeated psyche.
